Our client, an agri-food company, are looking for an Analytical Scientist to join their team! Based within the Research and Development department, the associate scientist will be part of a team investigating the enhancement of the nutritional profile of the company's products. Responsibilities: Sampling and sample preparation. Prepare chemical solutions. On occasion may be called to assist on tasks as part of different R&D projects. Conduct analysis on different substrates including food products, compost and casing. Conduct functional studies on a variety of microbes (including bacteria and fungi. Conduct horticultural trials to assess the quality of products. Completion of inventory and QMS records. Requirements: Possess a 3rd level qualification in a science related field, preferably Microbiology, Agricultural or Food Science. Mandatory. Experience of microbiology / physical and/or chemical analysis of a food matrix is an advantage. Comfortable with analysis of data and reporting. Holds a full driving license.
