Description

Our client, an agri-food company, are currently recruiting for a Project Manager for their R&D department. Role Overview: Overall responsibility for the successful initiation, planning, design, execution, monitoring, controlling and closure of projects from TRL 4/5 to full commercialisation. Challenge and develop strategies to commercialise projects and to build business cases for same. Ensuring that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget. Measurement of project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques. Assessment and control of risk and minimisation of uncertainty. Role Deliverables: Planning and Defining Scope of projects. Activity Planning and Sequencing of tasks. Resource Planning. Developing Schedules and time estimation. Cost Estimating and Developing a Budget. Risk Analysis and Management. Monitoring and Reporting Progress. Team Leadership. Strategic Influencing. Business Partnering. Vendor negotiation and the development of negotiation strategies. Competencies to perform the role: Leadership Skills: For employee motivatation, team development, conflict resolution and decision making on behalf of team. Time Management: To work with team members, customers and management. Financial and Budgeting: To develop and maintain a budget. Analytical Skills: To be able to solve problems through analysing data and making decisions that affect the project. Process Driven: To develop, implement, replicate and improve processes to manage increasing scale. Commercial Awareness: To understand the business sectors; customers; competitors and challenges to ensure successful outcomes. Independence: The ability to develop clear insight on business and project decisions and to justify same. Experience and Qualifications. Formal project management qualification/ certification (PRINCE 2; PMP. BSc in science (preferably food/ horticulture/ agriculture/ biotechnology. 5+ years in project management and ability to demonstrate successful outcomes. Experience in the development of project management/ continuous improvement programmes in food/ agritech or biotechnology sectors The use of project management software, such as Microsoft Project.
