My client, an agri-food company, have a vacancy for a Senior Scientist to join their R&D department. The successful candidate must been an experienced chemist and will be responsible for managing a large research project. This is a key role that will manage a suite of innovative projects focused on enhancing the nutritional profile of their food products. RESPONSIBILITIES. Manage project tasks and adherence to project plans. Develop all project reports (for internal and external state agency stakeholders. Management of a team of scientists. Driving food chemistry aspects of the project. DESIRABLE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE. Have experience in analytical and organic chemistry. Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and contributing to joint tasks/deliverables. Have excellent organisational skills. The ability to work independently. Experience in working in high- paced and accredited environments. Ability to meet ambitious deadlines. EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS. PhD in food chemistry or similar. Mandatory. Minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience in industry or academia. Management of food chemistry projects. Working knowledge of food legislation. Experience in food fortification/ nutritional enhancement of fresh foods. Experience in soil and/or organic matter chemistry (environmental science. OTHER SIGNIFICANT ROLE REQUIREMENTS. Comfortable with analysis of data and reporting. Computer literacy is essential, including knowledge of reporting systems. Strong attention to detail. Good communication skills and a team player. Appreciation for compliance and ability to achieve. Assertive and independent minded. Self-organized, reliable and results-oriented working style, strong communication, fluent in English.
