Our client, a successful agri-food company, are currently recruiting for a Project Manager within their R&D Program Delivery department. Proposed Role: Within this landscape there is therefore the need for candidates with strong project management skills. The Project Manager role will include but shall not be limited to the following: Overall responsibility for the successful initiation, planning, design, execution, monitoring, controlling and closure of projects from R&D to full commercialisation. Ability to challenge and develop strategies to commercialise projects and to build business cases for same. Ensuring that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget. Measurement of project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques. Assessment and control of risk and mitigation of same. Role Deliverables: Contribute to the development of company’s project management system and ensure compliance with the system through management of projects. Take full responsibility for the execution of assigned projects. Planning and defining project scope including development of business case and project charter. Careful and clear definition of project / customer requirement specification and management of same using a change control process. Planning, management and reporting of normal project elements including: Strategic Influencing – development of clear stakeholders for each project and using same to manage issues and risks as appropriate. Business Partnering. Vendor negotiation and the development of negotiation strategies. Controlling Quality. Benefits Realisation. WBS / Activity Planning. Critical path monitoring and developing. Resource Planning. Developing Schedules and time estimation. Budget development / cost estimation. Risk / Issue Analysis and Management. Monitoring and Reporting Progress. Team Leadership and development. Performing thorough lessons learnt / feedback of experience. Competencies to perform the role: Leadership Skills: For employee motivatation, team development, conflict resolution and decision making on behalf of team. Time Management: To work with team members, customers and management. Financial and Budgeting: Proven skills in devloping and maintaining budgets. Analytical Skills: To be able to solve problems through analysing data and making decisions that affect the project. Process Driven: To develop, implement, replicate and improve processes to manage increasing scale. Commercial Awareness: To understand the business sectors; customers; competitors and challenges to ensure successful outcomes. Independence: The ability to develop clear insight on business and project decisions and to justify same. Experience and Qualifications. Qualifications. Formal project management qualification/ certification (PRINCE 2; PMP. BSc in science (preferably food/ horticulture/ agriculture/ biotechnology. Experience. 5+ years in project management and ability to demonstrate successful outcomes. Experience in the development of project management/ continuous improvement programmes in food/ agritech or biotechnology sectors The use of project management software, such as Microsoft Project. Proven track record in having commercialised a product or process through management of a multi-disciplinary team. Other Significant Role Requirements: Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Solid organisational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
