Occupational Therapist- Paediatrics
We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and passionate Occupational Therapist to join a well-established organisation in the North East supporting children and young people with additional needs in both a clinical and school setting. Specialising in Ayres Sensory Integration Therapy which is provided in a state-of-the-art custom-built clinic, combined with other best-practice approaches, this is an opportunity not to be missed. Requirements: BSc qualification in Occupational Therapy. Full CORU registration. Experience/ training in Sensory Integration. Experience in providing a wide range of paediatric assessments. Excellent knowledge and application of a variety of treatment approaches. Clear and concise report writing skills. Ability to independently manage caseload. Excellent interpersonal communication skills. An ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Effective oral and written communication skills. A strong work ethic with good organisational and time management skills. This role will involve: Provision of family-centred therapy including the assessment and intervention for children and young people, aged 0 -18. Caseload will include children with Sensory Processing Disorders, Autism, ADHD/ADD, DCD/Dyspraxia, developmental delays and other learning, emotional, social and behavioural difficulties. Specialist occupational therapy assessment of children with complex and varied special needs including report writing. Provision of specialist therapeutic intervention with the ability to draw on a variety of approaches to ensure that each programme and session is unique to each individual child. School and Preschool consultations, including group therapy. Collaborative and joint-working with other professionals and relevant disciplines including Speech & Language therapists, Psychologists, Teachers, Physiotherapists, Paediatricians.
