Senior Design Engineer. Role Type: Permanent. Role Location: Monaghan. Our client is at the forefront of design and manufacturing in heavy industrial equipment. Due to continued growth and expansion they are now seeking to add the role of senior design engineer to be the first point of contact for the MD for all matters design and to mentor and guide the design team members. Key Attributes. * Experience in the design of heavy duty material handling equipment. * Experience in the design of Hydraulic and Pneumatic systems. * A genuine interest in finding innovative solutions to meet a range of criteria. * A hands on approach to product testing and assembly. * A proven track record of project delivery to agreed deadlines. * Prior experience in managing teams is highly regarded. Manage a team of design engineers to: * Provide Mechanical Design Engineering & problem-solving expertise. * Carry out design alterations to current equipment as part of continuous improvement of machines. * Design new fixtures, components and sub-assemblies for the machines. * Complete reverse engineering of various components from measurement to production. * Technical support for production, sales and marketing. * Project manage multiple projects simultaneously. * Taking ownership for the cross-functional activities required to resolve complex issues, always with the aim of continuous process improvement. Requirements: Essential. * Degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Design Engineering or similar. * Experience of working in a company with manufacturing/designing background. * Experience with 3D CAD (Solid works Preferably) and 2D CAD. * Excellent Communication Skills, Verbal, Computer and Presentational. * A strong background in problem-solving techniques. * High attention to detail. * Ability to work as part of a cross-functional team involving production, sales & marketing. * Ability to work to tight deadlines.
